Israelwinetaster is  a lover of wine who lives in the Western Gailee region of Israel. This region is located in the northwest of the country uphill from the Mediterranean coast and not far from a large number of the wineries of Israel. He frequently visits the wineries for tastings and special events and is happy to answer any questions you have about the wines of this region. To contact him send email to israelwinetaster@gmail.com. If you like what you are reading, tell your friends on facebook.com — spread the word. Also let him know what specific topics you would like addressed on this blog.

He is also a physician, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine both in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine, specializing in diseases of the respiratory system. He is concerned with the effect of wine on health and plans to write about this subject. Other plans include building a series of “How To” articles about basic winetasting, planting a small vineyard, and starting to make some wine. Of course, this is when he finds the time 🙂

  2. Hi Dan, keep up the great work! While I do not necessarily always agree with your thoughts on the wines tasted, I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog and wine experiences and hope to finally meet you soon in person and enjoy some Grand Crus together! 🙂

  3. Hi Dan
I see you’re talking about wine coolers
I would be interested in buying one for about 30 Bottles
Would you have any recommandations for me?
    Thank you and Shana Tova

  4. Hi Unc, Like your website! Does Israel have Pinot? Let me know if your email has changed. Shana Tova! YS

  5. Yes, we have Pinot Noir in Israel, but being a grape that does not like heat, and, according to The Oxford Companion to Wine, one which “demands much of the vine-grower and winemaker,” it is not one of our forte’s. I didn’t like the one we tasted and wrote up in an article five months ago.

  6. Greate pieces. Keep posting such kind of info on your site.

Im really impressed by your site.
Hey there, You’ve done a great job. I will definitely digg it and in my view suggest to my friends. I’m confident they will be benefited from this web site.

  7. Nice review of the Yiron 2009 cab/merlot/petit verdot blend. It’s a beautiful wine. Thanks for linking to those great panoramas at the winery’s website. Thumbs up for you, and thumbs up for the 2009 Yiron.
